Sky Lanterns by Shereen

sky lanterns that advance each passing moment,

bracing itself high up with the hope of enlightening

the strength of a chap in somberness;

rubbing a lamp to evoke positivity,

where ambition is dreaded upon

inspiration being whispered-

to the ones that lack perspiration-

to strive is too succeed;

to cuddle the garment weathering with heat,

in commemoration of the certainty and mendacity once withdrawn;

to lock yourself up along with allegorical anecdotes

simply to turn into something now extinct

to cheer someone else and spread false optimism;

in a rut, yes, is your state of being-

but picking the pieces and hanging them to a wall

a wall that would break free of all anguish
